Remote Support Service

I have been working with computers for over forty years and I have a lot of experience working in telephone support. I can help you with the ubiquitous ‘computer problems’ that so many suffer. I can do this in a relaxed and calm manner and I can do this remotely.

I won’t charge you to chat about your issue. I won’t charge any retainer. I will chat about the issue and then I can give you a price. I foresee the (very) occasional £10.00 job, I would hope to keep it £50 or less per problem solved, but I can imagine that every now and again somebody will come up with something requiring more substantial discussion.

For the last few years I have been using a product called TeamViewer which allows me to log into your computer and take it over (evil laughter!) I realise this involves trust on your part which is why I am going to rely on referrals. You can be sure that once I log out of your computer then neither I nor anyone else can log back in without your permission.

I don’t know everything. If flummoxed I’ll be able to point a way forward, albeit one which may involve further cost from a third party. On the other hand, some queries may have quite a straightforward solution. For instance, “I am so sorry to announce this but your dearly beloved (twenty year old) computer has expired. Buy a new one.” Or it may be as simple as, “You need to contact your internet service provider and tell them ‘blah, blah’, I will email you the ‘blah, blah’ so you know what to say.”

You do need to install TeamViewer (easy, I will help), it is free for you to do this. You will need to be connected to the internet. If you are connected to the internet you could be anywhere in the world where internet access isn’t policed by the authorities and I will be able to help. Subject to the time here of course (see below).

I am not always instantly available. If I can’t answer I will call back as soon as I can.

I’ll give you my phone number after we’ve said hello via email. As a general note, please don’t call after ten at night and before nine in the morning.

It would be a rare day when I could not help you at some time during the day you call. At the very least I would expect to return contact shortly after five in the evening.

What else do you want to know? Just ask, you already have my email address. I look forward to hearing from you!
